    I'm almost 17 years old, I am 5'9 and I weigh 187lbs. My entire life I've been normal and at some points even under weight, but in the last year and a half I have gained at least 45lbs. I used to cheer-lead and run track everyday, but when i quit both last year the sudden loss of physical activity caused me to gain weight. I currently hate myself..       Yoga is really nice and not to hard to learn from a class or DVD. Do that plus, eat vegetables, fruit and fish. That should make you start to feel better. Drink half your weight in water by ounces. That means, if you weigh 120 lbs., drink 60 ounces of water per day. This plan will work to make you feel refreshed, limber and ready for more difficult challenges.

    I'm getting bad headaches, could it have to do with not eating enough?
    I've been dieting but the past few weeks, but only recently I have been getting bad headaches. But I also ate more than unlike now. I either have a turkey sandwich on wheat bread with light mayo or a salad with a apple and a glass of water. Could my headaches have to do with lack of food?? It's not hot here or anything. But I have been working in the heat for the past week painting.

      It's the lack of nutrition, your food is very 'empty' so your body can do little, to nothing with it. Headaches usually develop from your body not having the nutrients available to clean up, and 'garbage' getting released(usually caused by stress).

      Drink Orange Juice instead of water, and things should get a lot better instantly.

      If you are concerned because of what 'others might think or say, don't even entertain the thought. If someone else does not like you for who you are, just as you are, then they are not deserving of your affection or respect.
      Besides, our appearance is not as important as our inside, in the heart and mind.
      Before you can lose what you feel is undesirable, you must accept and love yourself, just as God so loves you. When you love yourself on the inside, the outside will come around, guaranteed. :D

    Struggling to balance diet with family meals/opinions?
    I am a 19 year old student living with my family, and up until now I have been trying to compromise my 'strict' vegetarianism around them. The problem is that my parents refuse to compromise at all in terms of family meals and I always seem to end up eating meat based around the idea that it going to waste is even worse than the meat/dairy industry alone. I want to stop doing this very, very much as for all my other meals I as strict as a vegan in terms of diet.

    The problem is, my parents not only don't compromise, but actively go out of their way to mock and sabotage my efforts - My parents have even gone so far as to put mince in my stir fry when my back is turned, and put beef-stock gravy on vegetarian meals when they have never felt any urge to before. I am also getting daily personal ridicule with them saying things like 'Vegetarians look like death warmed up', 'There's no goodness is vegetables at all' and 'If you don't eat meat then people wont need farm animals and will kill them all' when I have NEVER mentioned anything to them about my diet choices other than to request that certain foods be left off my portions.

    I already buy and prepare everything I eat bar my main meal, but I can't afford to pay for my food 100% as well as board - I have already had to go onto supplements because I can't afford the foods I used to eat.

    How can I get around this situation, because I will be living here for the next 5 years?

    I have steadily lost pounds by sticking to a calory counting diet and creating a calory deficit.

    I have noticed weight loss in the face, chest and just below the chest.

    Why cant I lose the baby weight?
    I had a baby boy a year ago. I started off breastfeeding but i had to stop. I changed my diet and i started exercising when i was able to. pre-pregnancy weight was 132, now I'm 153. It seems no matter how hard i work out or how strict i put my diet i can not lose any weight. i count my calories. 1200 a day. im always under and never go over. i dance for a half an hour. then do "tires" for five minutes. then i got for a 15 min walk. still havent lost anything. Now ive stopped eating and only drinking protein shakes, due to low iron. and i still havent lost weight. its depressing and it sucks. i was to be 132 again. Why cant i lose this weight? HELP!

      okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess toxins in your blood or fat to lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

      Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
      eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a food/rice steamer to make it easy on you)...(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods, at first,,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)...avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc...and drink water . If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

      also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

      * you should lose about 10 lbs per month

      You have to change your palate. I didn't like healthy food either until I consistently made it part of my diet. Now junk food tastes terrible. Being 'fussy' is a mental thing and you can get over it. In fact you have to if you want to stay thin and fit. Start by converting the unhealthy foods you eat a bit at a time. Consistently get wheat bread instead of white, every time, no matter what. If you do this, then eventually you will prefer wheat bread. Get the turkey burger every time, and eventually you will not want the beef. It really does work. The idea that you have to have certain foods a certain way is all in your mind, and it can be changed.

      just make sure what your eating. You may consume that amount of calories, BUT watch out for sugar. Sugar adds on to fat.

    Why does any increase in weight due to a temporary abandonment of my diet not show on the scales for 2 days?
    I am currently losing weight. I have set myself a target of 100gm per day, which, averaged out, I am achieving. However, once a week I temporarily abandon my diet and go out for a few drinks.     Hi im 16, 6"1' 175lbs. I gained 24 lbs because of my leg injury and the new hockey season is starting in a couple of months. I have kept my weight healthy before my injury, because im in sports, but now i have to rely on exercising. I am totally new to this. My daily diet is oatmeal with some milk in the morning. Whole wheat bread sandwhich for lunch. For dinner i try to eat something with protein. (i dont decide whats for dinner :/). For working out i start of a 20 minute jog after breakfast without breaks, i fix up a shake for protein and get to the free weights, sit ups, push ups, burpees etc. for about 20-30 minutes. I eat my lunch go for a 15 minute jog. After dinner i take another 15 minute jog. and 15 minutes of weights. I sleep for a good 6-8 hrs and i do this 4-5 times a week. Please improve my diet or workout if it needs it thanks :)

    n yes i also did sum exercise with my diet i used to walk briskly 30 min in the morning drank lots of water throughout the day n 30 min on the treadmill at night... in the first week i had a bit of headache but that went off n after that had no other medical problem or illness related to my less calorie intake (well atleast not apparently any) ... so plz do tell me that what food i should eat to avoid all the weight gain n also what kind of exercise .. i know most ppl will say that i should consult sum nutritionist or doctor for diet plan but there is no one i could approch for this so i would really appreciate if u ppl could help me :) n yes i m not n anorexic cuz i luv foooood still but i am not a foodoholic too i can control my diet to veggies n fruits n juices n all the things u count in healthy foods to mantain my weight having no problem with it

    acouple of months ago I got my braces, and since I couldn't eat any solids I started to eat baby food but not all the time. I actually really prefer baby food to normal food as I have had issues with eating foods in my life when i was younger.

    what I want to know is what will actually happen if I start to eat baby foods as my daily diet all the time say like 3 small jars a day? what would happen? would I be okay etc?
