I tend not to like strict diet plans. I found that I ate a LOT better when I went vegan (no more cheesey gooey goodness or ice cream). I would suggest going vegan for the period of your diet. Also, abstain from pre packaged vegan foods (soy ice cream, fried chik'n, etc), and focus more on whole foods. Seriously, taking the cheese and dairy out of my diet did wonders because so many fatty and tasty foods are eliminated.So, in sum, try a vegan diet full of unprocessed foods. Please understand I am not trying to push veganism on you for any moral or ethical reason. What you eat is up to you. I am simply focusing on the health aspects and my own experience. You could easily do this for the duration of your diet and then switch back to eating healthy dairy and egg products in your diet.

Running...how many competitive long distance runners have you seen that are overly 'chunky'. You won't be able to do it very fast but if you get started now and push it you should be able to make a significant improvement by the time summer comes again again. I would recommend starting with ~1 mile and work your way up. Also, don't forget you need a balance of proper nutrition, resistance and cardio excercise, and sometimes good supplements (ripped fuel or any thermognenic fat burner).
- Jump rope (60s on, 30s off). Repeat 5-10 times (but alternate with the items below)
For thighs:
- quads - do wall sits. Put your back against a wall and pretend you're sitting in a chair. Hold as long as you can. Back up, then repeat.
- Butt/quads: do Lunges (no weights). Walk across the floor doing thigh bends (your knee should almost hit the ground). Go slow and concentrate
- Mountain climbers: get down on all fours like you're going to climb a mountain. One foot up and one foot back...alternate feet in a jump fashion (go for 60s, 30s rest)
- Sumo squats: grap a light (10-20 lb) weight. hold the the weight in your hands inbetween your legs. Point your feet outward and squat down and back up (go for 60s, 30s rest)
- Jump lunges: grab one light dumb bell (5-10 lbs each) in each hand and start in a lunge position. Jump and switch feet and land in a lunge position (go for 60s, 30s rest)
- Side lunges: grab one light dumb bell (5-10 lbs each) in each hand and start standing straight up. Lunge right, then back up, then left (go for 60s, 30s rest)
- hamstrings - get an ab ball (can get for ~). lay on the ground and put your feet up on the ball (extended). With your butt off the ground use your hamstring muscles to pull the ball into your butt. Extend out and repeat
- side jumps - get a step (or something similar). jump over it non-stop (side to side) for 60s, take a 30s break and repeat (4 times).
- Also do inner/outer thigh machine or use resistance bands (get a trainer at the gym to show you). You can usually get a one time session for free and resistance bands don't cost that much (so you can buy some and do at home)
- Eating and stomach (abs)
You can (and should) eat 5-6 semi-small nutritious meals...speeds up your metabolism and prevents you from being too hungry. Don't load up with 'tons' of food and don't cut your calories to bare mininum (1K) as this slows down your metabolism.
You can try eating various things: fresh fruit, chicken, brown rice, broccoli, beef jerky, protein shake, applesauce (no sugar added), veggies, lean ground turkey, turkey sausages, Low sugar protein bars (or try Kashi bars). Oh, and substitute any junk food with Odwalla bars (the choco. chip ones are fabulous and have 8 grams of protein). (I'm 'frugal' too and can still find good, healthy food to eat)
If you eat ~7 a.m. ~10 a.m. 1p.m. 4 p.m. 7p.m. (and 10 p.m. if you're up late you should be great. Get your excercise/workout in b/w any of those meals (or directly prior)
You don't need many weights or machines. You can get one of those ab balls online or at a Target/Wal-mart for like -. Do abs using the ball...always works your core. Also get some resistance bands and you can work your legs (outer thighs) as well. Go for a run or do some sprints to get in better shape. Pick up some sports/activities with your friends.
- Oblique exercises (twisting - works your 'love handles'). Do a lot of these using the ab ball: sit on the ball hold a 10 lb weight and walk your feet forward. 'Lay down' and with the weigh above you twist to one side-up-pause-twist to the other side. Ensure you're using your obliques to do the work.
- Start taking a thermogenic fat burner (will burn fat faster when your body temp rises - i.e. working out), ripped fuel, or hydroxycut hardcore before your workouts. Don't exceed the daily recommended allowance and drink plenty of water. You don't NEED these, they just help burn fat faster while providing energy. You could take a multi-vitamin instead (relatively cheap at Wal-mart)Hope that helps...you should start making significant progress (while eating real food) if you follow this advice and work hard. Remember...you need the resistance training so don't exclude it (do circuit training if you need to). Lots or reps...15-20 and increase the resistance as you get stronger.

I have been on a extreme diet lately that has caused me to loose around 40 pounds in just a month and a bit. It is very drastic but it works and as long as you have the willpower then I think that it'd be a good way for you to see results.Basically I have been on a nonexistent carbohydrate diet. This means I have cut out all breads (this includes brown bread), all pasta, all rice and potatoes. Instead of having cereal for breakfast I will normally have two rice cakes with some tinned tomato's! Either that or fruit salad with a few table spoons of low fat yogurt.
Cutting out the carbs really had such a great effect, I stuck to salads and stir Fry's instead of sandwich's and pasta. The weight will literally fall off of you however sometimes you tend to become grumpy and slight tired. It is worth it though if you are looking for fast results. It's encouraging as you can see it really working.
Also, I combined this with a low fat diet. No cookies, cakes, crisps, sweets or chocolate (a few squares of dark chocolate every other day doesn't do any harm!). This means I also limit my intake of cheese and milk and have yogurt as a treat. It works wonders and it is quick, if you have cravings then snack on fruit or nuts, which are packed full of good fat and keep your blood sugar levels high which keeps your metabolism up.
Eat protein as it increases muscle mass which speeds up your metabolism, so does chill is and green tea. Try and have a glass a day!

You can lose weight without excercising(which is so much better) and theres stories about girls who lost 40 pounds in 2 weeks. and i saw pics of girls who have a body of a goddess. And Boys with big muscles and six pack. The diet plan goes like this.7:00am- Breakfast time. Eat Grapes, apple slices or one banana.
2:00pm- Eat potato chips, grapes.
9:00pm- Eat more dinner.Your meals should not be Higher than 100 calories, or you cannot lose weight. You cannot eat anything else until 7-9hrs after finishing the previous meal. (A cup for grapes for breakfast and that's it)

Just eat REALLY healthy, no chips, pop, anything except once every 2 weeks, or after a meet/competition. You should get plenty of exercise from figure skating, but ask your coach if there is anything you need to work on strength/toning/cardio-wise and get an exercise plan from them. That way you're working towards being a better figure skater AND working out

Food- Always eat breakfast. Yes, I know getting up a bit earlier to consume the first meal of the day is sometimes hard, but it is necessary. I would suggest egg beaters and a piece of fruit (preferrably a banana to give you necessary protein). Drink water. They say if you drink water in the morning it gets your brain working a lot better. Juices and milk have a lot of sugar, so you definitely don't want to drink your calorie intake for the day.
For lunch I would suggest a turkey (low sodium) wrap. Walmart has these really good wraps that are fat free. Put a little bit of lettuce and tomato on the wrap and you're ready to go. If you want some extra flavoring, add a pinch of pepper. Drink water again because our body needs A LOT of water everyday. Plus, if you drink water throughout the day, the less snack urges you will get. It's not smart to snack- adds extra calories. If you're dying to eat drink water and crew on a piece of Stride or Orbit gum. Long lasting and good tasting! Sometimes hunger can be mistaken for thirst! So keep that in mind.
For dinner I would suggest chicken varieties or fish. Stay away from a lot of red meat. Red meat contains a lot of sodium and fat. You don't want a lot of sodium and sugar in your diet. Eat veggies and perhaps a small amount of brown rice. Use butter spray (it's fat free). Parkay makes the best tasting! It really does taste like butter!!!
For a snack at night if you're still hungry try fat free/sugar free jello or pudding. Popcorn is also a really good choice. Low fat (94% fat free) is sold at Walmart or you can even get the corn and pop it yourself. Add some butter spray and you're in business. Don't add extra salt though!
Don't eat past 7PM if possible. Late night eating is really bad for you!Exercise- Try running, walking fast, parking far away so you can get that extra distance in, sit-ups (increase how many you do EVERY night), push-ups, walks, sports/biking, swimming, Wii fit (ha), dancing...Basically any way to stay active! Always be on the move. When sitting watching tv move your legs to keep moving and burning those calories. Stair stepping is also good. If you live relatively close to a studium, go to there and run the stairs.
Remember- With a healthy diet and staying active, you'll lose weght without a problem! Good luck!
BTW- the green tea tip is great! It speeds up your metabolism A LOT and is a very healthy drink for you! Don't add sugar, perhaps a small amount of Splenda (not even the whole packet- you don't need it, it'll be sweet with only a drop of it).

Most diets don't work jus continue eating what Ur eating but smaller portions and more times a day it boosts ur metabolism (obviously eating chili cheese fries everyday won't do it jus be smart) and continue doing cardio...20lbs is alot of weight so it will take time...try simple workouts jus use light weights and do more reps (this will help u lose weight and help ur body become more lean NOT bulky) but still do ur cardio everyday for atleast 30 min...goodluck

I'm about to go into my junior year of high school so no more PE. But, I do work- I waitress so yes I do walk around and occasionally I'll do some jump rope, at least 400ish or maybe fifty crunches on a yoga ball.I was thinking about replacing lunch, I'm not really a breakfast eater- only occasionally- with a slim fast meal shake. And then eating dinner, 6 out of 7 days I eat something at the restaurant I work, so it's not all fast food.
And in case I get hungry throughout the day I was thinking about the snack bars?
I heard that the slim fast shakes give you gas, is that true? And do all slim fast products give you gas?
So, I was planning a shake (more or less 200 calories) or a meal bar (less than 250 calories, or the Optima Snack Bar Muffins - 140 calories) for lunch and/or breakfast or cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios).
And then simple korean food for dinner.
Good idea? Will it help?
I'm 5'3 13X pounds.

Slim Fast is not necessary if you train yourself to eat healthier:
Eat brown rice, veggies and baked fish for dinner.
Oatmeal for breakfast with fruit in it.
Drink fruit smoothies during the day for a snack. Try to eat protein at every meal...for breakfast with the oatmeal, eat a scrambled egg white or a hard boiled egg.
Eat a salad or chicken/turkey sandwich on whole wheat for lunch. Use olive oil and vinegar dressing...no saucy dressings.
Drink water only.
Never eat white or processed foods.
Try baked sweet potatoes...mmm... Eat spinach salads, not plain lettuce and add all the veggies you want to it. Try red wine vinegar...a few splashes and a little drizzle of olive oil.
If you want a crunchy snack, cut up a cucumber and put in lite Italian dressing or better yet, half cold water and half white vinegar. I mix mine with some cherry tomatoes too...A good smoothie needs a good blender, so make sure you have one, cut up 1 banana, some blueberries (about 10-15) and strawberries (about 5), a cup or so of skim milk, a sprinkle of flax seed (buy a container of it and keep in fridge), a scoop of vanilla protein powder and blend it up, add a bit of crushed ice and you've got a good smoothie. You can add any kind of fruit...I cut up peaches sometimes too or frozen cherries.
Try reverse crunches, where you lift your legs up and out. Go to SELF.com for good tips...I love their workouts. Walk or run a lot and
use a stability ball for crunches.

so breakfast, i would eat either Leftovers from last nights dinner, or something Filling. Breakfast is important for you to eat and should be pretty big..
Lunch I ate something moderate, nothing too big or high in calories, and nothing too small to get me starving, just something right... a lunch.
All together i would skip dinner. if you cant handle it (the first few days are the WORST)
eat ONE fruit and plenty of water..I exercised at night, running at the park...
so from 298 to 180 or so...

Ok just now i stumbled across something called the "fast-5 diet". It's supposedly an easy way to lose weight by fasting for 19 hours a day, while eating anything during the 5 hour period. Never heard of it but I can tell you this, don't try it. To successfully lose weight, beyond water weight, exercise is necessary. Fasting can be useful in certain situations in no way should you fast continuously in order to lose weight. Studies show that eating small, health conscience, meals every 2-3 hours and about 30 minutes of light exercise 3 times a week will help you to lose weight. All on top of this it is very important to hydrate. In general a person should drink at least 72 ounces if not more of water. Do research for work-out programs. I've tried and had success with P-90X and Insanity (Only try this if you are physically fit and very prepared). Finally see a personal trainer for tips and ideas for a healthy and proven way to lose weight and maintain fitness.

I read this book, Beauty Secrets for teens(for got the name) It has diet plans and celebrity secrets and how to get a boyfriend. And i looked at this diet plan. You can lose weight without excercising(which is so much better) and theres stories about girls who lost 40 pounds in 2 weeks. and i saw pics of girls who have a body of a goddess. And Boys with big muscles and six pack. The diet plan goes like this.7:00am- Breakfast time. Eat Grapes, apple slices or one banana.
2:00pm- Eat potato chips, grapes.
9:00pm- Eat more dinner.Your meals should not be Higher than 100 calories, or you cannot lose weight. You cannot eat anything else until 7-9hrs after finishing the previous meal. (A cup for grapes for breakfast and that's it)
What you think? maybe i have the same results as my friend who loaned me the book. she lost 50 pounds in 3 weeks. If she can do it so can I. I have to loose weight, I'm 17 with a big belly sticking out. I'm 5'3'' and weigh 150lbs.

1. First start by getting up earlier than usual. Around 5:30 AM to do some of you workouts. Getting up early shocks your metabolism because the body needs more energy to get going. Right? This will start your system on the road to weight loss. That early start with about 10 minutes of stretching. Have a cup of coffee to get the blood going also.2. Do all the sit-ups you can. Just do them. 15 or 20 whatever, we don't have a lot of time to work with. Rest 1 minute repeat, do this for 6 sets. Already you are breathing hard and feel worn, because the body is working extra hard at being up earlier and then going right into exercise. If the early morning hour lets you get your cardio in, go ahead and do it. 30 minutes.
3. Diet. Cut all current meal portions in half, just cut them in half, nothing fancy or complicated, CUT IN HALF! Cut out all bread products, all gravies, candies, chips, night snacks, etc. If you crave at night eat a banana, other fruit or best a non-fat yogurt. There are some tasty ones out there.
4. In the evening do another 6 sets of sit-ups maxing out each set. Cardio again. The trick is to stay with getting up earlier. Yes it’s hard, that’s why it is so effective. Why do you think the Army gets up so early, it is intense training to the max.

All successful diets have one thing in comment: Calorie control. (Less calories.)
Less calories = cheaper than more calories.I recommend the following approach.
- Read my source. It will show you how many calories you specifically need to lose weight, and it explains why too. It’s amazing, even though it’s simple.
- Once you read that, you’ll know what your TDEE is, and that you should probably try to eat 500 calories less than your TDEE on average. What I would do is actually try to eat 600 calories lower than your TDEE for 6 days a weeks, and then eat exactly at your TDEE on the 7th day.
- Try to eat 4-6 meals per day.- On the lower calorie days eat the following foods:
Carbs: Basically any vegetables, 4-10 servings per day. Fruits and fruit juices, but only after workouts.
Protein: Any lean meats. (When I’m too lazy to cook, I just buy no-sugar low-fat deli meats!) Egg whites. Protein shakes. Rice and beans together.
Fats: The small amount in lean meats. Egg yolks. Almonds. Flaxseed oil. Olive Oil. Fish Oil. Avocado. Peanut Butter.
All of this must be counted towards your daily total, which means you’re going to need a food scale.- On the higher calorie day (once per week), eat the same with the exception of now including Oatmeal, brown rice, 100% whole wheat products, multi-grain products. You can also have a desert, but it counts towards your calorie totals.
- Lift weights. Start doing it if you don’t already. Remember that exercise does count towards your TDEE. (I.e. you can eat a little more if you’re working out!)This works for several reasons.
1) You’re daily deficit average is around 500 calories.
2) Your food sources are really healthy.
3) Working out burns calories, and it builds muscle which increases your long-term metabolism.
4) It cycles your carbs which is better for fat loss.
5) It cycles your calories a little, which is better for fat loss. (Keeps your metabolism higher on average.)

Slimfast is just reducing the amount of calories you have for two meals a day.I believe it is an okay jump start if you want quick results, but should not be used long term.
The shakes are around 170-200 calories each.
In theory if you eat your other meal and very light snacks in addiction to completely swapping out your meals with the shakes, you will lose those pounds. But it is possible to gain them back once you go back to your old eating habits.
A jumpstart to weight loss? Yes?
Permanent solution? Not really.
