Good crash dieting is a lot of fiber, veggies & fruits, and lean meats such as turkey or chicken.Think oatmeal & a banana for breakfast, grilled chicken & a salad (with no cheese or croutons) for lunch, and grilled chicken/salmon for dinner with steamed veggies. Have fruits for snacks, or 94% fat-free popcorn (really high in fiber!)
Drink lots of water between meals to keep yourself hydrated, and don't drink any carbonated drinks. The calories in them are amazing, and carbonation makes you feel hungry. No gum either, chewing signals your stomach to expect food but it won't receive any-which will make you hungry! So have a mint if you feel the need.
Don't forget a daily vitamin too, just so you get the vitamins you'll be missing out on. It'll keep you feeling healthy & energized every day (although I wouldn't reccommend taking a vitamin without food, it might make you sick to your stomach.)
Half hour on your elliptical every night & eating high fiber/high protein foods will equal success.
You shouldn't expect to lose more than 3-5 lbs. in just 10 days time on a crash diet.

Exercise is really important as it helps you burn calories. You sound unfit so if you start running you will get puffed out in a short pace of time.You need to get fit to be able to run. Start walking in the park for an hour and once you feel fitter start power walking( a form of fast walking) and gradually build up your fitness. Include walking into your daily life. Walk everywhere. Walk up the stairs to your flat instead of the lift, up the stairs at work/college/university, get off earlier on the bus etc.
You're 23, you should be out enjoying yourself and feeling good about yourself. Its such a shame not to do anything about your weight if its making you so unhappy.
I know you said you went to the doctor about your weight, but how about going to the doctor and tell him/her that you have made yourself sick in the past and sometimes feel like doing it, maybe they can recommend you to a specialist.
Lots of people have been your weight and managed to loose weight, so it's possible for you to do it to. Don't give up whatever you do and if you end up binging on some bad food don't beat yourself up about it, everyone has bad days.

ANSWER:
Simple answer = no.Activity vs. food intake, once corrected will help keep the weight off. I did this and was successful with it. I did Atkins for like 6 months, got all the benefits (short-term), started a good exercise regimen and kept the weight off once I normalized my diet.

Depends. If you actually change your diet and exercise regularly you will keep the weight off.But a better option would be to slowly change your diet and slowly add exercise to your daily routine. This will allow an easier transition for your body.

I would say exercise such as walking and running, and jogging, but kick boxing and doing jumping jax also helps. In terms of diet and crash, probably making a well blend of 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 20% fat, but then again this will probably end up making you lose more than just the area on your leg, but it helps. Exercise more! Play sports in school, play with your friends, anything! Dance, move around, as long as you get your heart pumping and your body working. Walking is good too! As for the diet part, just eat as healthy as you can. I know its hard! But it's possible! Whenever your gonna eat junk food, think to yourself, is this really what i want to do myself? I know you know the answer. So just eat healthier, like fruits and lowfat foods, and excercise as often as possible with anything from sports to just getting outside and playing man hunt with friends. TRY IT!

Try eating plain oatmeal for breakfast, white rice for lunch, and pasta for dinner. If you need a snack, eat a banana. This way, you won't be hungry because the soluble fiber in the foods keeps you full, but you'll burn more calories than you'll have eaten. Make sure to keep the portions pretty small and put some fruit in the oatmeal/veggies in the rice so you don't get constipated....
